If you are here, you might be wondering who we are. Well, we are a group of cooks and chefs dedicated to develop the best gourmet recipes out there. We got tired of restaurants claiming to serve gourmet food but instead they charge you premium price for a small portion of “fancy” ingredients. Want some examples? OK!
- A gourmet hamburger chain (Red something) serving overcooked patties topped with a fried egg, really?! you call that a gourmet burger?!
- A fast-growing Mexican food chain selling “gourmet burritos y tacos”. Their food is decent but cannot be called gourmet. I will show you what a real gourmet taco is!
- The restaurant with a big Terracotta horse at the entrance serves good American-Chinese food but lemongrass and fancy tea bags won’t cut it as gourmet
- The over-priced Brazilian steakhouses across the nation with a big salad bar (that’s a no-no)
I could keep going but that would be like giving credit to those restaurants. Now, don’t get me wrong, I still go to the above places every now and then but don’t call it gourmet and ding my wallet for that!
What I consider gourmet are restaurants like:
Fruition – Denver, CO
Scarpetta – Las Vegas, NV
Morimoto Waikiki – Honolulu, HI
Los Danzantes – Mexico City, Mexico
Fuzion Gourmet – Cebu City, Philippines
Iggy’s – Singapore, Singapore
Yukimura – Tokyo, Japan
But you don’t need to go to those places (I’ll keep going for you!) to really experience gourmet food. I will share with you easy (and not so easy) gourmet recipes that you can cook at home. Make sure you check out my article about the basic equipment you will need (nothing fancy, don’t worry) and the tips to achieve a restaurant-quality dish.
